What Ecommerce Businesses Should Know

For ecommerce businesses, website security is essential to protecting customer information, maintaining business continuity, and safeguarding customer trust. Vulnerabilities like PHP2Shell highlight the importance of keeping website technology up to date and ensuring security patches are applied immediately. If you’re unsure whether your ecommerce platform or hosting environment is affected, contact your technology provider to confirm your exposure and determine what steps, if any, are needed to protect your site.

Your Ecommerce Platform’s Architecture Matters

PHP2Shell is a reminder that the technology powering your ecommerce website plays an important role in your overall security strategy. KalioCommerce doesn’t use PHP at all for our customers’ websites, so this specific PHP vulnerability doesn’t apply to our platform’s website technology. We believe businesses should understand not only what their ecommerce platform can do, but also how it’s built, secured, and supported.  If your website uses PHP, please ensure that you’re using one of these versions (PHP 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 and 8.2.35) and/or the latest critical patches recommended by your technology provider as you to take the necessary steps to protect your site from this PHP security vulnerability.
